Tech Article: Front Bumper Removal Directions to change fogs and headlights on B7 A4/A3
well I couldn't find a tech article on this, so I decided to write up my own. I just removed the front bumper on my new B7. Some of the things were harder then my B5, some were easier. I did this to gain access to the headlights and foglights. It does require you to take off the front wheels, wheel liners, and front bumper of course. Unlike the B5, the bumper isn't molded into the bumper support. This makes it easier, but here are the directions below.
Tools:
1. 10mm socket
2. long extension for sockets
3. torx bit socket set
Here are the Instructions:
1. Open hood (duh)
2. Jack car up and remove both wheels on the front
3. There are a total of 14 screws and bolts holding on the front cover. I'm going to show you how to find and remove all.

-The three bolts on top are easy to find. (they are shown above in red)
-There are four bolts holding the bumper in on the sides (shown in green). You must first remove of pull back the wheel lining. I removed it to make it easier. The upper two bolts circled are a kind of a pain, and must be reached with a extension, and require a 10mm socket to remove the nuts.
-There are three screws on the bottom where the belly pan must be connected to (shown in yellow).
Once you remove all of this the bumper will come off and allow you to remove the headlights.

Remove the bolts shown above. Actually two of them you only have to losen. The top one remove. This one below is a pain but use your long extension to reach it. You don't have to take it out all the way. See below:

Pull light out.
Walla...you are done. do whatever you want with your fog lights and headlights now. I was a little sad to learn that the bulb in the turn signals is ALREADY WHITE!

I wanted to tone down the orange on the sides, but i guess I'll have to hook it up to the rosstech and have them only come on when turning. Anyways thanks for looking. Hope this helps some of you looking to change your fogs or headlights.
***Disclamier. I have Xenon lights, have no idea what it's like on the regular Halogen lights, may be easier, may be different, the key is different.

yeah you have to crack the plastic and then cut it out throught the small hole, but you can't ..
just pop it out and take it out in one piece
