Default Please tell me

You're a day and a half early for April Fool's.

I was looking at September for silver interior and Sprint Blue exterior, if that gets pushed back to Winter I might bail.

Default You really think the RS4 engine is "ironed out"?

I think it's the main reason for the RS4 delays.

There's been more than a few complaints about oil consumption on Euro forums where people have already taken delivery. A few early cars were flat out returned.

Default dozens have been delivered. capacity is the problem. not reliability.

where are you getting these reports? on the other forums i have yet to hear of a problem. are you pulling that senator mccarthy crap AGAIN on the RS4? dude. get a life.

Default RE: You really think the RS4 engine is "ironed out"?

Do you have any links to go along with that? I'm not calling you out on this, I just want to read up on it a little more since this is the first I've heard of oil consumpstion problems, and I've been scouring RS246, RS6, Audizine, Fourtitude, and here with alarming regularity.

Default You can't find it.

You don't have to believe me.

But, doubt me and I'll be sure to throw an "I told you so" or two in. Sounds good?

Just because cars are being delivered doesn't mean everything is fine. I'll give you 3 predictions right now. Remember the whole "I told you so thing?"

1.) I bet we see some oil consumption and reliability problems associated with the high revs.

2.) I could see Audi revising the 8250 RPM rev limit lower to improve reliabilty (like they did with the tiptronic transmission on B6/B7 cars)

3.) I could see the car not putting out as much power as advertised and/or not meeting performance claims.

Will all 3 happen? Maybe, maybe not. I would be very surprised if none of those three didn't occur. Now all we can do is wait. From the looks of it, it will be a long one.

Default Re: You can't find it.

well, you've put enough flexibility into your assumptions that, given a little imagination, you'd never be wrong.

any car may have teething issues but they will occur later. and will not be related to current delays. even if RPM adjustments came (and a UFO could abduct me tonight also) they'd be better than having to press a button to get addt'l hp from the engine.

re: oil- look at the current S4. the car still has oil consumption issues and it has been out for 3 years or so. (mine doesn't because i used Dr. GP's break-in method). and what is this fixation you have with the RS4's performance claims? the car has done 0-60 in 4.4 and 4.5 seconds in the last two reviews it received in europe. that means it EXCEEDED it's promises. you'll site that other reviewers said it was no faster than the S4.

when it comes to judging a car, however, you should judge it by it's best performance because that shows it's true potential- in every sense of the word. regardless of conditions or driver.

Default So, what you're saying is.....

Take my word for it, because "There's been more than a few complaints about oil consumption on Euro forums where people have already taken delivery. A few early cars were flat out returned." and yet, we can't find these reports, nor are you willing to point us in the right direction, why? Private, secret society forums? You'd think given the size of the reader base here someone other than you would stumbled across them by now. Why does it seem everytime you comment on the RS4 it's laced with doom, gloom, and some sort of hidden need to see it fail?
