Specs:
- ASUS P5B Deluxe/WiFi-AP - Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 2.13 GHz - 2 x 1 GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 PC2 6400 Dual Channel RAM - 150 GB Western Digital 10,000 RPM Raptor - 500 GB Western Digital 7,200 RPM Storage Drive - 20.1" ViewSonic Widescreen LCD - XFX GeForce 8600 GTS 256 MB PCI Express x16 Video Card - Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE - 2 x Samsung 18X DVD DL Burners - Lian Li Aluminum Mid Tower - Linkskey 19-in-1 Internal Card Reader/Writer - Antec TruePower 2.0 550 Watt PSU - Zalman 92mm CPU Cooling Fan with Heatsink - Artic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - Logitech MX3000 Cordless Desktop Laser Mouse and Keyboard - Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Comments: I cannot say enough how much I like NewEgg. The computer was ordered Thursday (9/21/2006) afternoon and was delivered Tuesday (9/26/2006). Everything came without damage, scratches, etc. The computer came to $2120 minus $70 for two mail-in rebates and it was $2050. That comes in much cheaper then the comparable Dell. Updates: - NewEgg sent 2 discs for the DVD burners 2nd Day Air since they accidentally left them out of my order. - One stick of RAM went bad and NewEgg exchanged my set of RAM for two new sticks under warranty. - My Western Digital 150GB Raptor Hard Drive failed and Western Digital replaced it for free under the 5 year warranty with an advanced RMA option. - My XFX GeForce 7900GT Video Card fried and XFX replaced it with an XFX GeForce 8600GTS Video Card as a free upgrade under the lifetime warranty since the 7900GT is no longer produced. - I finally added a sound card, albeit an entry level card. That said the improvement over onboard sound is quite noticeable and worth the small investment. Pictures: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() NOTE: RAM is not properly setup for Dual-Channel in this picture... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I love these shots of the video card... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Temporary setup pictured: I was formatting my laptop and had the desktop pulled out so I could open it up and get inside to check on things... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() DVD Drives only look gray because the flash went off and the tower is aluminum. It is actually a very close color match... ![]() ASUS Power Indicator Light! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RAM is now properly placed in DIMM slots A1 and B1 to run in Dual-Channel now.... ![]() Here is the final setup now that my desk is cleaned up. I have the Linksys Wireless Access Point hooked up to my apartment complex's free internet. That is dedicated to my laptop. I use the cable internet on a dedicated hardwire to my desktop. I love this computer and the setup of having a powerhouse desktop and decent laptop! ![]() Ballar! Nice and simple just the way I like it. Nothing that screams look at me and it's all about the stuff inside. I couldn't ask for a better setup for the money!

my case is solid black so you don't see these LEDs. I made sure not to get a case with a plexi window to look in. I can only see those lights when it's open
![]() That doesn't mean I don't like how they look when it's open, butI didn't want to see that all the time / the cases with plexi windows do not cool as well or look as clean. Also the Zalman cooler was cheaper with the LED light then without so I went with it only because my case is closed and I knew I wouldn't see it. The ASUS status light is the only other thing lighting up and it as well does not put out enough light to see through the case. |

design case. It does look nice and clean. But they have to improve those greatly.

the 1 thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have a way to cleanly hide the wires which would help with air flow. Otherwise I can't complain. It's built solid, stays cool since it's all aluminum, it's light, it has the removeable motherboard tray, and isn't too loud all things considered with 4 80mm fans. When looking at this case though I'm just wondering what you would like to see from it that it doesn't have?

and I've almost beaten HL2.... I'm addicted to both I think. Well that and having a fast computer. Now my laptop is so nice too, since it's formatted and has absolutley nothing on it but firefox, aim, and office

I can't remember why I installed mine w/ the fan facing the back of the case. I can't get any good feel for airflow in there with everything on, but my CPU tems are really low so I don't really care...hehehe
