Default Winter tires for RS6

Below is the link on tirerack for the only winter tire that "pops" when you enter an RS6 for model and make under a winter tire search. I can't tell if this tire has the heavy duty rating that the Dunlops and Pirelli OEM tires have. Anyone know? Anyone use this tire?

Thanks.

Default Would the A6 4.2 have the same weight concerns as the RS6?

03 A6 4.2 . Blew the motor after 8k miles . They couldnt fix it, had stopped production, so was conned into buying an RS6.
03 RS6. Stock except I removed the mufflers and had LaBree make me quad straight pipes instead.

Default Re: Absolutely! Especially if you have 18's on it. Stock Sport rim for 4.2 is 17".

But the weight of the car is the same so it benefits from the higher load ratings as well..

Default I thought it had to do with power to weight ratio as well.

Default It's interesting. If you punch in the 18" OEM rims, they only give you the Pirelli 240's, but

if you punch in 19" optional rims, they give you the Dunlop Winter Sport M3's. I had those on my last A6 4.2 and they were phenomenal winter tires IMO. I live in Chicago and they suited my needs perfectly.

You would think if they make them for the 19's, they'd make them for the 18's as well. I'll check.

Default Similar results come up for Michelin PS2 summer tires

In the US, with a heavy load rating, search shows they are available in 19 but not 18, if I recall correctly.

Default Re: Winter tires for RS6

I just bought some replica RS6 wheels (18) and ordered the Dunlop M3's from Tire rack. The wheels I have and the tires are coming at the end of the month. So they are an option in 18's. Hope this helps.

Default Re: Winter tires for RS6

Just became proud owner 2 weeks ago. Looking for clarificatio...esp. from 2xTuro, Who's 18" replicas? Were they from Achtuning or AAA Rims' or somewhere else?

I am looking for 8.5x18 w/ ET30 correct? and going w/ the stock sizing 255/40/18 Dulop Winter M3. We only get a half dozen days of snow so I feel staying w/ stock size would allow better handling on the other 90 days of winter.

I would appreciate any feedback. I thank you in advance!!
