This weekend I had the pleasure of meeting LI-S4 and watching him work his magic on my car. I bought the kit from Mike several weeks ago, but we couldn't find the time to get together until this weekend. He came up and did the whole install in less than two hours. There were a few electrical gremlins, but it was nothing that Mike couldn't fix. Here are a few pictures of the finished product, but they really don't show anything...and that's the point!
The power cord is wedged into the headliner and then runs down the A-pillar before going into the fuse panel. Nothing to see here. This display location is completely intuitive and looks like it came right from the factory. If you're considering a hardwire option give LI-S4 a call. He's great to work with. P.S. I also opted to have the remote mute button mounted on the back side of the turn signal stalk. It's within easy reach of the wheel and the black button and wire are not noticeable unless you stick your head behind the steering column. |

I don't know about seeing it with the wheel all the way up. I feel like it would still be visisble, although there might be a little part cut off by the wheel.
I've seen the post with the shift boot location, but I think tapping the lever is easier than moving my hand to the boot. That is super stealth though. I had the V1 for a while before I decided to do the hardwire so the costs came incrementally. Send LI-S4 an email if you want to know the price. He'll respond quickly and explain everything. The remote display is about $40 from the V1 website. So all together it adds up, but I feel like it was worth it. The price will hopefully be offset by a lack of tickets, and in my opinion the "gizmo factor" is worth it as well. |

driving the car like a VW micro bus. The best part about the remote display is the fact the unit doesnt light up anymore so it cannot be seen from behind you.
