Default blown speaker?

Got the Bose audio in my 2001 A4. When cold, the left front speaker (the lowest one) sounds real bad. Sounds fine the rest of the time..

Anyone else have trouble with their speakers in the cold, or do I need to replace that speaker?

Default I don't know about the cold, but...

...I've had all my speakers replaced under warranty cuz they were blown. Had this done a total of two times.

Out of warranty and the two rear decklid speakers are blown, yet again.

BOSE blows.

Default the speaker doesn't, other parts of the car do :)

Realize that this is pretty normal.

It sounds a bit like the speaker is being "overdriven", like when you play loud music on a speaker not designed for it.

Default i went aftermarket, with alpine. i popped my oem speaker and took out the plastic contour

and screwed that directly on the plastic contour of my aftermarket speakers so, no mods where needed, since if you go aftermarket you are going to have an hard time if you don't do that.

Default Bad. Rattled under low bass and moderate listening volume.
