I recall on the B5 Bose systems, you can turn this feature off, haven't tried it on the B6.

It's called "SVC", speed-sensitive volume control, I believe. You set it on a level from 1-5. You get to it by cylcing through the menu button. You may have to be holding menu down when you turn on the radio, not surre. RTFM.
