Default Can you really get the seat memory to work with the key?

How's that work. I don't remember seeing it in the manual, but I haven't had much luck getting my seat memory to work either.

Default It's in the manual but I haven't tried it, since nobody else drives my car.

Default I have been looking at the forums

seems like people have had trouble getting the memory seats to work as well as the key. I will just have to try it out and hope that it works.

Default I had it working, but it stopped.

I haven't gotten around to re-programming it. I followed the manual. I have no idea why it stopped.

Default I've done it. Sometimes the mirrors don't finish adjusting though. Seat adjusts fine.

It was in the manual, but I can't remember off hand the exact steps.

What I've noticed is that sometimes the mirrors don't finish adjusting and I have to push the memory button anyway. I think it's related to how long I push the remote or how quickly I "double click" the remote if I'm unlocking all the doors.

But overall, I still like the feature. If you switch drivers enough it's definitely worthwhile...especially if one person likes the seat close and the other needs it further back. The person who likes it further back won't have to remember to hit the seat memory button to avoid hitting their knees when getting in the car.

Default Re: Can you really get the seat memory to work with the key?

I can't get it to work with my key. The memory buttons are easy to program and work as advertised on mine. I also purchased from Baillargeon. When I went in a few weeks ago to ask how to program the key, they didn't know, but one of the service guys (Jeff I believe) was going to investigate it and have an answer for me. The way it is described in the manual does not work for me. Maybe you can follow up with Baillargeon since you seem to be in pretty frequent contact with them. I would, but I'm always out of town working...barely any time to drive my car.

Default Mine works. The manual instructions don't seem to work though. I don't remember what I did to.....

get it to work exaclty, but it was something like this.

Hold down the memory button you want to store, then while holding the memory button hold unlock on the remote.

I know I did something like this and it works for me. Try a few combinations if the first method doesn't work. Like holding unlock on the remote and then hold down the memory position you want.

I will try to figure out what I did and will post if I do.

Default I just programmed my other key and it works fine. (Instructions inside)

As mentioned in another post, press and hold the memory button you want to program your key to. Then (within 10 seconds), press and hold for (at least) 2 seconds the unlock button on the remote.

Note that the seat doesn't move until you open the door. So if you are testing whether or not it worked by sitting in the car and messing up the seat position, then make sure your driver's door is open when you press the unlock button on the remote. (Or open the door after you press the unlock button on the remote.)
