A Tribute to O.W. Kenobi, and what Matt meant to us.

I have been trying to figure out why we have been so touched by the sudden, tragic death of Matt, who we had only known for a short time. The shock of the accident is a big part of it, but setting that aside, the bigger part is the loss of Matt as a person. I remember when he posted in the PacNW forum that he was going to move here and he was asking for advice on where to live. And then he moved here and became such a big part of our local AW community so fast! His instigation of Wednesbeerday was a testament to his love of people and his love of Audis and his love of German beer and all the things that go along with that. When we decided to attend our first Wednesbeerday he readily gave us his cell phone number so that we could locate the group of strangers in the bar. And he welcomed us into the group despite the fact that our S4 is not nogaro, and not a B5.

We are thankful we were able to attend one track event, Quattrofest, with him. And we are sorry we will never get to sit next to him in a car on the track and learn from him.

We grieve over the loss of Matt and what could have been. We are so sorry for his family and friends. I will never see another Nogaro S4 without thinking of him, his enthusiasm, and his incredible sense of humor. So many of his posts qualify for the AW Hall of Fame!

Rest in peace, Matt, you will be sorely missed.

Those who rode with him and able to speek with him at q-fest i'm sure learned a great deal from his experience.

Maybe you can show that at the Kenobi GTG as well. I think it would be a fitting way to remember him at the GTG.

If you want to add more pics of OWK, there's a picture memorial thread on the S4 forum. It'd be nice to have some pics of him as well (not just his car).

I laughed at his great quotes and cried when I saw myself as a passenger in one of the shots. Thank you for this great tribute: great music, perfect quotes, awesome pictures. More smiles and tears for a man who deserves every bit of the recognition he is receiving. We were all truly blessed to know him.
