The rdd counts on a unit leaking signal...the V1 doesn't have this issue as far as I know.

"Sir, please had over your radar unit"...
That happened up near Collingwood.. Thats what made me buy my "decoy". No idea how the Spectre works.. but the capacitors/resistors are the only thing I can think of that would give off any sort of signal.

the cop passed him in a parking lot, his spectre went crazy. he couldnt pinpoint which car but did some "deducting" based on the cars parked near him.
seems there's still some emited "residue" or something like that, even when turned off. a bit freaky. all hearsay though. never been caught myself... regards, Liam

time the cop blipped his radar on...
funny story: telling the cop to go ahead and rip his T-Bird apart...'casue HE AINT GOT A DETECTOR!!!(yeah, don't yell at cops) On the other hand, his buddy with a MR2, used to have his detector concealed in a small pack of smokes that would sit behind his right shoulder... ...if he got pulled over, he would simply drop it in his pocket! ...and hope the cop didn't try to 'bum one off him' ![]() (not sure how the pack hurt the detector performance, but it was pure genius at the time )

Spectre Radar Detector Detector. This microwave interceptor's
function is basically the same as the VG-2 radar detector detector, which is familiar to most traffic police. The Spectre RDD has been designed specifically to detect the latest state of the art stealth type radar warning receivers. Unlike other devices being offered at present the Spectre RDD is the only microwave interceptor manufactured and sold to law enforcement departments exclusively. The modern circuitry of the Spectre RDD also allows for the detection of older radar warning devices. It may be used in a vehicle which is equipped with all X, K, and Ka band police traffic radar systems. It is also immune to radios and other electronic equipment found in today's police vehicles. If radar detectors are a problem, the Spectre RDD is the answer. Spectre Radar Detector detection. Omnidirectional 360° laser protection. UltraBright-- Data Display--uses identification letters to indicate radar band detected. Simple Operation Multi-Band Reception (X, K, Ka) Unobtrusive Compact Design Compatible with All Radar Units Anti-Cloaking System (Invisible to Radar Detectors) Minimal False Alarms LED Bar Graph Built In Audible Alarm Excess Temperature Warning Light Weight Rotates 360 Degrees

something so that you are allowing a signal into the box but not leaking anything out??? wouldn't that make it RDD transparent?
Just a thought...

the unit itself houses the signal pickups for the detector...encasing it would not only limit the amount of signal leakage, but also eliminate the ability to pickup radar signals.

but then again some units are self contained so that wouldn't work...
