Default Getting into the VIR mood... even though I'm still #2 on the waitlist...

Marc let me know today that I'm #2 on the waitlist for the beginner group, but i've been steadily working on some track mods. I have so many uncompleted mods sitting around in their raw material state that I decided to finally get these out of the way. The silver ones still need their mounting tabs, but the black ones are ready to go into their perspective car ;-)

Designed to save all the weight from my 20lb headlamp housings (2 xenon kits + custom bodywork = heavy)

For track use only. 3.5" velocity stack will connect to an extra inlet on the custom intake thats in the works.

Oh, and while I was looking through pics from this summer... my homeless alter ego in DC... Sounds like he'd be good for some Rock Bottom ;-) (Audi Content: Note the european side mirror)

Default Assume you're going.

Check with the 'powers' but you might need turn signals (although I don't see why...you have a working left hand); the on-site checklist includes "brake lights, signals'. Just wondering myself.

Default My 944 has no turn signals. If race cars don't have turn signals, they shouldn't be needed on track.

Default I've always hated that rule. it's confusing for people who don't know it. Is the signal

pointing the direction to go (since that's what a point-by is) or is it the direction that the car being passed/giving the signal is going to go (since that was a turn signal on the street is)? If the latter (which is what I think it means), it's the opposite of the hand/arm point-by and, therefore, confusing to see while others are doing the normal point-bys. And, in split second decision making moment, it's not something I want to have to actually think about.

I saw it my first time at the MidOhio ACNA event in 2004. I had no idea wtf he was doing. I didn't see a stop sign or traffic light, nor did I see lane lines painted -- so wtf? I thought maybe he just bumped it, but...nope...others were doing it too. Is it something the ACNA teaches in the beginners groups? I don't agree with it.

Bottom line: if you do need them, you should only need the rear ones for their rule.
