Default Open Letter from Johan de Nysschen to ACNA Members

May 14, 2007

Open Letter to Members: Audi Club North America

Dear Audi Enthusiast:

I am writing this letter to reaffirm my personal support, and that of Audi of America, Inc., to the Audi Club of North America.

The Audi Club of North America is an independent, private organization, and while we take keen interest in the activities of the Club, Audi of America has no desire to interfere or become involved in the management and day to day administration of the Club. However, we have a vested interest in ensuring the continued growth and vibrant success of the Club.

While not wishing to become embroiled in the tension which presently exists between certain members of the Board, it is an inescapable fact that the situation is not healthy, and is not in the long-term best interests of the Club.

Our support is to the Club - not to individual members or to specific members of the Board of Directors. I would, however, encourage the Executive Management of the Club to adopt an inclusive as opposed to an exclusionary approach, and to utilize the available expertise, experience and enthusiasm of members, and to apply this in the interest of the Club which we all value highly.

We encourage all parties to work towards finding a speedy resolution, placing the interests of the Club above all else. I would also encourage Club members to take a more active role in the affairs of the Club and to participate in elections - the democratic process does not work well in the face of voter apathy.

We look forward to the continued success of the Club, and assure you of our continued support.

Sincerely yours,

Johan de Nysschen

Default "un-biased" and "rift" seldom go hand-in-hand =)

Default Well put....

There is alot of information that has been linked across the internet by some individuals. While this information has been discussed in some online forums, it portrays a single POV on the situation and events leading up to the current state. There has been criticism that folks aren't hammering out this issue within the online discussion forums. While this situation will be resolved and information provided to the membership, an internet battle royal will not resolve anything.

I would strongly encourage folks who are concerned to hold tight, information will be coming. Do not prejudge the situation until all the information is out there. As conflicts lead to litigation or other actions, the communication of information is even more important than before.

As much as I would like to help clear the air on the situation, it would not be appropriate to do so. The important thing for folks to know is that AoA has confirmed their support for the club, contrary to a claim that was recently made by some individuals. There are some very passionate enthusiasts who are working very hard to ensure that the club has a bright future for all members, despite this conflict.

Default Here's one that's fairly unbiased.

It's based upon facts, talking to the interested parties and lots of research. It is not based upon what the Executive Committee has to say because they refuse to talk about it.

In that same directory you will find copies of the lawsuit documents, letters to the ACNA BOD & EC and other information.

It may come down to membership participation so everybody should read inform themselves as much as possible.

Default As I mentioned in the other post, things are in litigation....

until that is completed, it would be inappropriate to discuss the details.

Default I wholeheartedly disagree...

AoA has discussed this. Every single member should be concerned and they should educate themselves about what the EC is doing. The suit only reinstates Craig and Mike, it does nothing to address the ongoing illegal activities of the BOD.

Everybody should research this and find out for themselves just how egregiously the EC has acted. They have done their very best to keep this quiet and it's time that it is brought out in the open.

Default You are entitled to your opinion

I wish to see the club prosper well into the future, and that it will.

I have nothing further to say about this.

Default How can you call this unbiased.

You only seem to have information from one side of the issue and nothing that seems based on any proven facts.

Default As are you...

And I want nothing more than for the club to prosper too.

But not talking about the facts is not going to make them go away. Yes it is embarassing and more than a little shameful. However, the Executive Committee has issued email announcing their actions (six days after the suit was filed they illegally 'elected' new BOD members), so obviously they aren't remaining silent.
And now AoA has chimed in stating that it doesn't like the behavior of the EC.

If you would like to refrain from discussing it, that's fine. As far as I and a whole lot of other people are concerned, it's open game from here on in.
