Default I plan on blacking out the lower and upper grills when i replace the bumper.

leaving it may give me a little motivation to get on it

I may do the N249 this weekend after i install my short shifter.

Default Questions: ...

I may have missed the info if already explained, if that's the case please refer me.

How exactly did you remove the housing lenses? You mentioned using a hair dryer, and it took a long time, but I'm unclear on how the adhesive was handled and how the lens was removed.
Besides a heat source, what tool was used removing the lenses?

TIA

Default Hair dryer, pick set, flat head screw driver and a couple hours per housing.

you gotta soften the plastic up enough with the hair dryer (the clear plastic lens doesnt soften ) and pry the softened black plastic away from the clear plastic with the flat head.

I used one of the pick tools, mostly, to create enough space to wedge my flathead between the two plastics.

The portion of the black plastic that's glued to the clear plastic will end up looking deformed before the two pieces separate. There's really no way around this.

The adhesive, essentially, remains intact. I found that it didn't really soften much, just separated with the heated plastic - either as a result of the heating, force used to pry the pieces apart, or a combination of both.

Again... separating the pieces was a pain in the ass. I felt like giving up after the first hour or so. There's a lot of glue in there, just be patient and don't try to rush your way through it.
