Well I finally received my Blitsafe adapter from Autotoys exactly three weeks after I had ordered the damn thing. Last time I ever go through that hassle with them.
Anyway got the adapter so time to follow the detailed instructions posted by "yeahboz" a while back. Very good, clear, conscise instructions. I highly reccomend following them. THe only exception is I decided to spend $6 bucks at Radio Shack for the "Y" adapter which plugs into both the Blitzsafe and iPod...no need to throw away any more money. Anyway here are some photos: The tools: ![]() Radio slides out with the greatest of ease with Radio Removal tools from Clair parts: ![]() ![]() Taped the end of the "y" adapter, that plugs into the ipod, to a hangar to easily pull through the console of the car: ![]() "y" adapter home free: ![]() Voila! Music without a casette adapter!

I just got an a4 cab. I believe it has the symphony II. I know it has a six disk in dash changer. it looks the same as yours. is this the correct adapter http://store.autotoys.com/cgi-bin/wf...MP3SYMPTHONYII . if you start reading the description its so damn contradicting. basically if this is the correct one after I install it I press my cd button twice and get into this weird aux mode?

And also did you consider providing power through the belkin car adapter (which also provides a lineout perfect for your Blitzsafe adapter as well)

I love Playlists and with Playlists the glovebox is a perfect option. I am a control freak ; )...just kidding. I wanted easy access to the iPod. I would never leave it in the car!! You can steal the car and it is covered under my insurance policy. The iPod and the 3000+ songs which are all perfectly tagged and in order are not coverred in the event of a theft.
As for the Belkin Car adapter...should I go on long road trips I may consider picking one up. I usually get enough out of the 8 hour battery...although the 10 hour battery was better on my 20GB'er. |
