Default Yeah, I should've been more specific. I was thinking of the four door Golfs and Jettas

It definitely doesn't apply to the Passat or New Beetle.

Default Seats are very nice. fit, finish and materials are second rate.

The car is also assembled in Brazil. I don't care what anyone says, there IS a difference between VW's made in Germany and ones made in Mexico and Brazil.

Default You're nuts

Chipped 337 vs. A4?! You might as well strap a seat onto your engine and drive it that way. The ride won't be that much different. Please don't clog this board with comparisons of your 337 to an '02 A4. It's apples and oranges.

By the way, my trunk lock works fine and I can get my car into first gear. How about you?!?!

Default Re: Read my description below:

I had that same problem with a 99 TDI 2 door. It caused me to sell it. I can't handle squeeks.

Default Yes, that may be so. But you all keep saying "vw", NOT Golf, so it sounds as if you're generalizing.

Default Re: May be trading the Phin for a GTI 337, updates later today..

I had a 01 GTI VR6. Quality issues that is all I have to say. Don't get the 337. Check out the new R & T page 61 Sept issue. 2003 GTI new design will have the 3.2L VR6 with 240hp. I am also hoping that the handling will be improved on the GTI. That will be my next car when my lease is up.

Default VW fit and finish is the same as Audi. Some of the VW parts/trim quality aren't quite as nice...

but the fit and finish is excellent on both.
