then the word "SAFE" came up on the radio display. So, following the instructions in the manual, I was able to reset the 'code' then everything finally started working normally.
I Don't know why this happened. I found it not working and a dull red glow on the display when I got in the car to go out last night. It just stayed that way throughout the evening 'till I finally pulled the fuse when I got home (didn't want to drain the battery). Just thought I'd let you folks know in case it happens to you.

Same thing happened to me. I responded the same way. This happenend a week ago, and it's been o.k. since, strange.

Short story was that when I took it into the dealer, they found out that the radio unit lost the codes to talk to the main CPU of the car. Once they reprogrammed the radio code, it's been fine ever since. The following link will take you to my original report.
