Default Yikes! The stereo is broken!!!

Well, here's my frist problem with my A4...

I went to feed my A4 tonight (93 octane @ $1.13/gal. - yum!). After refueling and paying, I got in, started it up, and the stereo would not play the CD I was listening to (was jamming to Meat Loaf - Bat Out of Hell II). The Symphony (with the Bose option) would light up to indicate power, but there was nothing in the display and no sound! I tried pressing all buttons, but nothing is happening.

To make matters worse, I got home and turned off the car and lights. The Symphony still has the backlights on! I've tried switching the ignition from off to on, but nothing happened.

Looks like my A4 is going in for service loaded with 6 CDs! I've had the car for 2 weeks and have logged a little over 1200 miles. This is the first problem I've encountered. Hopefully, it's the last!

Default Hopefully, all it needs a CPU reset or something. Please let us know what the fix is.

Default OT: How did you get beige leather w/ dolphin grey?

That's probably my favorite color combination, but the "build your Audi" software on AudiUSA.com does not allow this combo. Do you live outside the US?

I'm thinking of just ordering the car this way, hoping the order will go through.

Default They exist, in the US, just not in the brochure/website

A couple people on the board have them, and I saw one at the dealer this weekend. I know that it's not in the brochure / on the website. Either audi made some then decided to stop, or changed their minds after making the brochure.

Default It's fixed!!!

Went to the dealer this morning. They analized the situation and found that the stereo was giving an error code indicating that it had lost communications with the main CPU (lost it coding). They re-coded the stereo, and it functioning again. They don't know why it suddenly lost it's signal. It could have been a software glitch or a loose connection. Hopefully I won't enounter this again.

BTW, exceptional service and attention from the dealer (Fred Baker). This was one of the main reasons I went with them, and I'm glad I have made the right choice!

Default Re: OT: How did you get beige leather w/ dolphin grey?

When I had visited the dealer and was ready to get an A4, I had mentioned that the color combo I had liked was the Dolphin Grey w/ Platinum leather interior. He had checked the inventory and saw that there was one with the options I had wanted but had the beige leather instead. Had a look at it and knew that was better then the platinum.

Don't know why it's not listed in the brochure nor on AoA's site. Maybe it's still an option that can be ordered from the dealer? Good luck!

Default Hope not, I was at a gas station when it happened.

If there was a magnetic field, then that could set up a static pulse (like from a cellular phone) and cause things to go BOOM!!!
