Default Wouldn't it be nice if these cars actually brought that kind of money?

Yes, it was on EBay. Since then the Head was Rebuilt and New Brakes, Window Regulators, Brake Accumulator, Cold Start valve etc. were changed at a cost of $6,600.

What would be a fare price for this car. It is absolutely Orginal and special ordered car that came to CA for the 1984 Olympics (Hence the stickers on the doors) with Tan/Beige Leather. All other US UR Quattros wer 1983 Models. I believe this has the later Style Dash and switches. Perhaps, someone who owns a 1983 can confirm that.

$2,500 for head work, I think I did my whole engine for that. (I musta cheeped out) Makes JURQs look really cheap at $7k less without the rusty muff and with that sweet sport wheel and taxi guage cluster!

Default Rings..?

Olympic Rings?

So that's what those rings on my door are..?

Thing is, my rings came on a 1983 Canadian car.

Very odd indeed, the things Audi does...

Dash does look like the "later" style.

Well.... you asked, Special ordered how? I believe the Olympic symbol is 5 rings, while Audis corporate symbol is 4 rings (hence the stickers on the doors) My 81 has them and no Olympics to be found that year! There are other 84 US model Ur Quattros along with a few 85's with an urban legend 86 thrown in. Dash switches appear to be mid model, and diff lock appears early mid model.
I like the white, but as I mentioned quality wise it looks like your east coast competion is around $16K

Default Well, my guess is about $10k less than that.

There are '82, '83, '84, and '85 US ur quattros as well as a couple of '86 North American ur quattros, at least one of which is in the US. The '84s are definately rare, and your car does look very nice. Realize that $25k would be the high water mark for the sale of a US ur quattro. There are much lower mile cars out there with pristine interiors and engine compartments, so I doubt that car would bring the absolute top dollar.

Unless the Olympic Edition includes something other than just an extra sticker, and has some documentation, it really doesn't add to the value, but it might help sell the car for the novelty factor.

Money spent on the car over its life does not equate to increased value. That is simply maintenance.

Please note that I do not mean to be at all negative about your car. It is a very nice example. I just think that realistically it won't bring close to the asking price. A couple of years ago that would have been an $8k-$10k car. These days you can probably add $6k-$7k to that.

Default Guys, he's talking about the "Los Angeles 1984" sitckers on the doors

They're cool, but who knows how much (if any) that adds to the value. As an aside, I think I read somewhere that the original Auto Union 4 rings were chosen not only to represent Audi, Horch, DKW, and Wanderer, but also as a link to the spirit of international competition and cooperation of the newly formed modern Olympics. I could be wrong tho.

Anyway, that interior is standard '84 stuff. It's a mix of the early (gauges, seats, diff locks) and later (switches, fusebox, steering wheel, dash--tho the '84 dash has a unique trim line down the middle).

This appears to be a very nice example in the pics. Fair price is in the eye of the beholder. We current owners sorely wish you could get your asking price, but reality says it'll be closer to half that.
