Default Audi 87 5000 Quattro + suspension problems ? (wordy)

Hey all
I have a few question if anyone has a few minutes : )

My audi has approx 240,000 km on it. (for wear and tear guaging purposes).

Anyways When I go up a curve I hear a loud thunk. Sounds like it comes from a lower part of the suspension, like sway bar (can sometimes feel the impact in the steering wheel).. Sometimes this thunk occurs also when going up a curve, or over a speed bump, and while cranking the wheel hard to one side, then back to the other while driving. Ive checked the bearings and joints ...everything seems snug, however I can't really exert the force the car does : ).
Ive removed the sway bar, and checked control arm bearings to the Smaller sub frame. It seems ok. Struts maybe ? Both front springs need to be replaced as ive lost "half a coil" (revolution around once, only half of it) on the bottom of both, however 3/4 still exerts pressure down on the metal cup, so Im hoping I can get by with them for a while longer. Anyways does anyone here have any pointers as to where to start with this.. I just want to make sure I don't lose my front wheels while driving about. Tie rods btw, have no play. (that I can tell)

The next concern is when I accelerate in First gear (hard->pedal to the metal), and im now hearing the sound slightly in second gear. Its also kind of a thunk thunk (different from the other sounds), but seems to be while bouncing over smaller bumps while accelorating quickly. At first I was thinking drive Vel joints, however now I am thinking tranny mounts..?

Anyways If anyone has any pointers please let me know!

Thanks alot!
- Jonathan

Default Motor mount or Trans mount. Also check steering rack bolts driver side fender.
