BBS RS Rebuild Project - somewhat productive weekend

Thank you Sears for having 10mm 12point sockets in stock! (in both 3/8" and 1/2" even!) beats chasing down a Snap-On truck anyday

Airgun + 10mm socket + 10" extension + 8mm wrench = easy stuff!

had these guys apart in no time. no heat-gun or oven required...

rubber mallet works great (I wouldn't use plastic)

also, a word of caution: Machanix Gloves don't have a lot of grip - picture rubber mallet flying across garage and placing new dent in 20v! (major "doh!")

I stripped mine down like you are now.

I could **never** get those damn wheels to seal again - ALWAYS leaked!

Not to cast disparages on your project - mine were in horrible shape when I got them, I heard the previous owner could never get them to hold air either.

I'm sure you meant "beadblast" the centers. Don't sandblast - sand is much too abrasive for the wheel centers.

If you are doing the wheels yourself and you want some tip's on refinishing them E-mail me at brian@eckertmotorsport.com - I have quite a reputation for repainting/refinishing wheels and would be happy to provide tips and tricks to help you out.
