Default Busy day of qualifying at the Koni challenge at the NJMsP.....

First I would like to say a BIG Thank you to Sabine Schmitz and Mark White for their hospitality today at the APR pit.

I've met Mark last week at the Glen and today he introduced me to Sabine. To catch up on old days or simply having a nice chat with the Queen of the Nuerburgring and Mark for about an hour really made my day - and it surely encouraged me to join this community once again :-)

As you may know, Sabine and Mark share one of the APR Golf GTi's during this race weekend. Sabine was brought in for Randy Pobst since he is racing this weekend in Chicago.

Going back and for in between German and English was funny and real entertaining. And one thing is for sure, besides having a great sense of humor, she really knows her cars......too bad it is Sabine's last race in this series, but keep your fingers crossed for Mark, he is a real Gentlemen and great fun to hang out with.

Please forgive me that I didn't take pictures of Sabine or Mark but it felt inappropriate at the time because it was a more private conversation and not your typical pit lane talk.

Enough talk - here are a few pictures from today....and I found another allroad in the crowd, so this isn't OT ;-)

Mark and Sabine's ride.....

Something broke during the Qualifying run....and was fixed within the hour....

Look what I found....think you can hide from a fellow allroader? ;-)

First Ferrari Challenge race today....another one tomorrow...

Default I'm hoping that SidelineMotorsports will be at VIR so Michael can show me how to use it :-)

I suck at taking pictures because there is no gas pedal on the camera ;-)

Default Great photos ! Let Sabine drive your car around the track see what times

she puts in. Then you run it see what times you get. (-:

Default She just had her first Rally-like experience with the Master (Walter Roehrl) so our driving style

is entirely different; on tarmac she'll surely kick my butt, on gravel, mud or snow - that could be a different matter ;-)

But in the end it is about practice, practice and more practice and to get used to very early turn-ins and finding the right suspension setup; because she is such a talented driver, well, we'll never know but I'd surely appreciate the opportunity, as would anyone here I guess :-)

We are seriously trying to get Mark to join our event in October, it would be a blast having him around, such a great guy.

Default Awesome T she was really neat when my brother and I spoke with her at our Koni series...

she was really worried as she had not raced on our track before but did really well until the very end...I never did find out why she was out with about five laps to go. Glad you had a great visit, she just seemed like such a class act. My brother is mildly mentally disabled and everyone there that day on the autograph time was so kind to him.

Default She is a down-to-Earth person, not a sign of what some call "typical" race driver behavior...but so

is Mark, Ian, Randy or Mike or all the other guys who join us frequently at event days....just too many to name......

And there wasn't 5 minutes going by without seeing her laugh, I'm sure you and your brother got the same treatment from what you've said.
Great people, great fun and a pleasurable day all around :-)

To bad that the car didn't make it to the end in NJ; they've had some minor body damage issues in Qualifying yesterday, perhaps this caused an early drop out, too bad, all the efforts gone in a second.....
