Default need some advice cpo vs ext warranty thru underwriter

Bruce M has been amazing providing me with specific info on a very comprehensive exclusionary plan that will cover suspension air bags amongst other things. Is there any reason to choose cpo route over this plan? Bruce's plan will cost me roughly 3k for 50k/5yr more coverage. Can go to any indy or audi dealer for service. the cpo would give me to 100k or another 3 1/2 years. This is roughly the same time frame. Thanks.

Default How much is the CPO? $1500?

My CPO has been great. Covers air bags etc. If the other warranty covers things the CPO doesn't than maybe its worth it. Not sure what the delta is between coverage.

Default It's about how long you plan to own against cost and miles per year, etc. CPO is only listed

items, but it's backed by Audi. It's not 3.5 years, unless you're describing something else. CPO is usually not something you add to a car as it comes on retail used cars sold by franchised dealers who pay to add it as a marketing ploy, but Audi Pure Protection Platinum is something dealers sell to owners.

Bruce's plan is 5 years from purchase date, I presume. What do you drive per year? Is there a "customary charges" or other cost per hour limit? Is the air bag thing explicit? Bruce, I would like to see that plan if you're reading and will email it.

Default Always reading my friend. :) Just need your email address.

My plans are from warranty purchase date, not calendar year or original in-service date like CPO. There is only "reasonable and customary" for labor and part prices, no hard caps, and they compare indies and dealers separately.

Meaning, if your dealer is $110 per hour, and other local dealers are in the same ballpark, they will allow it. If your indy is $90, and other indies are around $90, same thing.

You just can't go to the Audi/Lambo dealer at $200/hr when local Audi-only dealers are $110/hr and expect to get it covered.

On exclusionary, air bags are covered. They are not defined-life wear items, they are not specifically excluded, they are not named "shock absorbers", and I have spoken with the head underwriter at INDS and have been given the information specifically that they are covered. The named component plan, called Platinum/Tech+, does cover much of the air suspension but NOT the air bags. But both exclusionary plans DO cover the air bags.
