No I know the difference between leather and leatherette my moms A6 avant and CLK430 have leather i know the difference. It was just a mistake on my part for not specifying. On that note do you think I got a pretty good deal? and will the swap be difficult?

The rear of the tracks have stoppers on them... pop the caps off of the screw holes and remove the philips head or torx screws. Then pull the stoppers out.
THe front will have a pin in the rail that slides along the track/mount in the front center. Pull the pin out of the center rail and the seats will now tip backwards in an ungraceful manner when you press on the backs. PUsh the seat to the rear of the chassis rails and lift up... the carpet naturally will be in the way and it will require some wiggling/ encouragement. BTW if you are putting power seats in your 1.8T, you are gonna have a fun time with the ass rapeage on that one my friend. If putting power seats into manual seat equipped car... You need to tear out the stock center rail point (chop that fcuker out) its gonna be ugly cuz its welded in there real good. You're gonna have the fun of then locating the stock POWER mount points... they are to the left and right of the manual rail mount. They are essentially just a pair of holes in the chassis... Next you have the joy of chopping 2 holes in your carpet per side of the car (2 per seat)... and putting threaded inserts into them ... you can weld them in or epoxy them in place after sanding the paint off of the chassis floor pan/metal where you chooped the carpet off. Now you can mount up your power seats... but dont forget to run the power to the motors... thats fun to, You should tap into your cig lighter circuit or your 75x under the dash for power for motors... power for the heaters... if heated... shoudl be run to the cig lighter or 75x aswell. |
