Default Hell No! The 'Family Truckster' did outstanding.

My gf wrecked her car (as some may have read) and she's been driving Herman. She had some difficulty getting to me at the loft (downtown) but once I was driving everything was fine. Hell, we even went out for dinner Friday night at the Red Onion (Kirby@59) with no problems. We stayed at her place Friday off of Fountainview@San Felipe. The water was covering the road on Fountainview but I just hiked up the suspension and strolled through the mire. This one guy was at a gas station where I pulled in to fuel up and just looked at Herman in astonishment. He watch the entire episode while fueling up his Discovery. As soon as I got out he started firing questions at me. 'What is That?' 'What kind of engine does it have?' 'How do you like it?' etc.

God I Love My allroad!

We live in the Southside Place/West University area. The flooding was pretty bad. Any cars that were parked in driveways got flooded. Luckily, "Audrey" was in our garage where she always spends the night.

Default Nervous Nelly...

I was working very late (11:30pm) downtown Fri. night. We didn't know how bad it was. Nearly went home down I-10 to Jester, my exit (as I usually do during rush hour). Glad I decided to take 45N to loop instead, otherwise, I think my allroad would have been part of the Katy Freeway Lake! I got a bit nervous when I got to my neighborhood. I had it hiked all the way up, but decided not to turn down my street (at the other end). It just looked too deep, so I went down another street and hooked back over to my street. From the debris line in the front lawns of the people there, the water would have been just to bottom of the door panels, I think (debris line was as much as a foot higher). We didn't get anything in the house, just a tiny bit in spots in the garage, but I was worried another 4 or 5 inches would bring it into the house.

Thank goodnes the car was safe!

Default Glad to hear it.

I was afraid that my garage under my loft was flooded after watching the news on Saturday. To my suprise it wasn't. Very thankful that everything is OK.

Default how 'bout UHRedneck?- Party Time!

I am now "mean green machine" and I ended up being very well off. My wife and I live in the Old Sixth Ward- 100+ year old neihborhood that has not recorded a flood since before the turn of the century- and the streak continous!. I pulled out 6 cars and a Discovery from the Montrose area. My good deads were good for my soul and ego! Memorial/ Allen PKWY were merged into Buffalo Buyou form Sawyer to Shephard. But it seems that for the most part my little part of town was higher than the Heights.
I hope all is well with my fellow Houstonians.
