trying to keep bose stock HU and Speakers and add subs+amp....and suggestions

Sure, just tap into signal at the Bose amp (from the receiver)
You'll also need to tap into the ground wire and remote turn-on, too.
Run 12v from the battery to the amp, and you're in business.

do u recommend any specific amp/subs combo? also several ppl go with 3 10"s or 2 12"s

I think you'd quickly out-gain the Bose system with that much
low end.
