Audi's response to me regarding the A3 coming to USA....

Dear Joe:

Thank you for contacting Audi of America.

We certainly appreciate your enthusiasm for quattro and your interest in the Audi A3. It was recently announced (at the Geneva Auto Show) that the five-door version of the A3 will soon be available in North America, probably as part of the 2005 model year line.

In the meantime, if you would like more information on the Audi A3 you may view it with a text in English on the United Kingdom website: www.audi.co.uk. Please keep in mind that all information given is for that version only and does not apply to other countries. There is no U.S. or Canadian specific model at this time.

If we can help in any other way, please write again.

I love GTI's but I wanna stay with Audi because of quattro. Therefore I want 3 door. However if the 5 door is available with the R32 engine and is nice looking then I may consider. Audi is a pain in the ass. Just give us what we want!

both 3-door and 5-door. It is also unreal that Audi has hid a good picture of the 5-door from the spy photographers.

or what the engine choices may be? Audi frustrates me! VW does also! R32 should be here already. We get shafted out of all the good items. 4 motion should have been available in the GTI or Golf long ago. If Audi does not want to bring the A3 here (I believe because it will hurt A4 and GTI/Golf sales) then why doesn't VW offer the Golf/GTI with 4-motion. It would make sense. Maybe the MkV's will and that is why the A3 won't come here.

at least the Golf 4 doors looked decent. This thing looks too long, very wagonlike! Why do we need this over here? We already have the avant! Makes no damn sense. AoA Sucks!
