Chiptar-AMD ECUs yet again!

I know this is probably the most common posting topic after our cousins over the water asking why they can't get our cars, but...

Concerned about warantee and insurance issues, I am pleased to see that AMD are now pushing a piggy-back chip called Chipstar. This is in theory easilly removable for services and (touch wood) accidents. I have contacted AMD, but in the mean time can anyone provide educated opinions/experience with such systems?

(2.5 weeks hard driving and still no bangs squeaks or rattles!)
