Default Charge pipe work continues....boring, oh well.......

Decided to bead blast my charge pipe to get rid of all the machine marks and to give it that typical TT brushed look.

<img src="http://images31.fotki.com/v1093/photos/6/645139/5891365/chargepipeplasted003-vi.jpg">

Added a little polish to give it a little shine:

Now my question is, I know this is stainless, but is this going to rust at the welds and joints? Or should it hold up with the polish applied? Or did I just remove all the protection and it will turn rust brown after the first wet day? Not sure what type or grade of stainless this is.

Looks pretty good. The down time sucks, eh? I know about that all too well.

Default Yes you do, but hopefully it was worth it. This is actually a spare one.....

once it's complete I'll replace my original. Then pass it on to the next TTer, already claimed.

Default It looks super to me. I would just re-install it and........

enjoy it. I think it will hold up just fine, including the welds. I wouldn't worry about it.

Default No I am not. Stainless is stainless and I've seen ........

stainless pipes used in jet engine test stands (read cheap stainless) which have been exposed to the Florida elements (read wet &amp; salty) and looked good year after year. The welds did deteriorate after some time but they cleaned up pretty well.
