Default PSA - Change your timing belt before it's too late

Default When I was chatting with the service advisor, he mentioned a 2001 that broke recently...53,000miles.

Default When is Audi going to own up to this? Ridiculous.

I feel sorry for owners who trust Audi's recommended service schedule.

Default Is that recommended service schedule the one which quotes that the

timing belt needn't be changed until 115,000 miles, or the one for the more recent TT's which quotes that the belt be changed at 60,000 miles.....LOL

You gotta laugh, or you'll just cry. All I can say is it's a good job people like us spend time on these sites to find out the "real deal" with Audi problems.

roadyTT : those pictures look nasty bud.

Default I was at my dealer yesterday talking to a salesguy. I asked him.....................

if he had seen any TT timing belts go. His answer..... "Oh yeah, those things have to be replaced before 60,000 miles"

Unbeleivable.
