Default Ground Control to Forum.... Mission complete...>

I have to confess, teh real reason I took my wheels off was to install the center caps I scored on Ebay a few months ago... Obligatory shot here (sorry about the dirty wheels...Little cold for a wash!):

On to business... The GC adjusters are in. I have initially set front Camber to -1.1. Those of you slammed are getting more than this, but with the Very limited adjustment at the ball joint, just having the adjustability is a bonus. I was at -.8 before and that's all she'd take Capt'n.... Toe needed adjusting after, and I gave up on Caster...That's a PITA and I didn't have a good spec. I just kept the shock tops on the center plane, so that essentially stayed the same.

In the adjusted position, based on sliding the shocks in and out, and measuring with my Smart Camber Gauge, I think the range will be about -.8 to -2.3 which is more than plenty at my ride height.

So How's it drive you ask?....Well after removing this much rubber from the shock tower:
<img src="http://images8.fotki.com/v148/photos/7/7305/1789110/DSC03237-vi.jpg">

You would think harshly....Not so. I was pleasantly surprised that the NVH is barely increased. NVH increase is mimimal and really barley discernible. I didn't expect the change to be so small considering how much rubber is taken out of the top shock mount. Rough pavement tire noise increases a tad. Steering is slowed down a bit as I would have guessed with increased (-) camber. Response though, is right there and no rubber donuts have to wind up to slow that response. You can feel the shock response is improved without the damping in the tower. Probably cornering adhesion improved as well. A stab of the throttle kicks in the Haldex for that power on oversteer, so all is good!

Basically I like the fact that I now have some adjustability to tune the suspension with minimal trade-offs. There are no real reasons not to consider this for an aggressive street car. This is with just a few miles on in the neighborhood. I have to put a few miles on out on the road tomorrow, but I don't think the early impressions will change much.
