Default well, i guess i should be flattered ...

brought my tt by the dealership (clair in boston) to have a warranty issue looked at, and the guy in the service department just loved the car -- saying how it was the best tt he's seen (and he wasn't trying to sell me anything, so i guess he was being honest) -- i think it was the lm's that got him all excited ;-)

ps. i guess you know you're a detailing addict when you pull in with a four year old winter warrior and it has a better shine than all the new cars sitting on the lot :-|

Default Nice to hear meem!

BTW, I went to Pass&Weisz today to ask about my bubbling paint on the roof trimmings, the manager convinced me that those pieces were painted afterwards by the original owner, hence no rust warranty coverage. \

Time to contact the 1st owner...

Default hey, guess what my warranty discussion was about?

same bubbling issue. clair's head service guy said no problem on getting it fixed under warranty, though they needed to have the regional rep give it the stamp of approval, which should happen next week.

Default Let me know how that goes then, IRA and P&W wanted their managers to see it

IRA said trimming is not covered as sheet metal [BS].
P&W said it's definitely repainted!

Default You mean in the seam near where the roof rack mounts are?

This is an old issue, it's come up before. May have even been a TSB out on it.

Default Dealerships I visited denied this being common, and they were showing me new TTs w/o bubbles!!

And supposedly they don't trust people who post on forums. Since most of us are modders maybe?

Default This is news to me; I have tiny blister-like imperfections; didn't notice them >

for a while, and they haven't changed in size or discolored over the years, but definitely wrong. Just looks like it would do more damage than good, to do something about them.
