Well like many others I had to have the AWE boost gauge.
1st thing I did was find the better route into the engine bay vs. the complicated AWE route. In this photo I installed a 1/2" grommet in existing hole. ![]() A picture of the rubber plug I removed and replaced with 1/2" grommet. ![]() Here's a shot from the engine bay. ![]() Next up the tie-in at the FPR. ![]() Now for wiring. I went with some valuable Schwing advice and tied into the light blue wire in the large headlight switch plug. This gives you dimming control on the gauge too! ![]() Another recommendation is to re-orient the gauge in the vent housing. I loosened the 2 wing nuts so I could spin the gauge about 90 degrees. This let me line up the aluminum bezel so that it still turned the same as the others. The key here is that you want to line up your hose and wiring in a vertical axis vs. the AWE recommended horizontal axis. None of this is necessary. I'm just completely anal and want things perfect. If you do this you will see (from under the dash) the hose line is underneath the gauge vs. on the side (AWE recommended). ![]() Done. ![]() Lights on. ![]() I highly recommend this one.

How does this affect the reading? I was told a chipped 225 will spike higher than 25psi, or was I misinformed? Would this setup work with a chipped 225?

at the Bentley wiring manual. Also, glad I'm not the only one with the gauge 90 degrees out. I e-mailed AWE about this and they said they would look into it.
Again, great job. -Robert
