Default Agreed 100%

Audi's performance numbers don't help the argument, but I'd put money on the 3.2 being quite a bit quicker than the 225.

Hopefully I'll get to test drive one next week.

Default Drove 3.2 yesterday

Drove a 3.2 yesterday. Quick off the line with no turbo lag but definitely slower than our 225 with OCT chip, BMCDA airbox, Milltek non-res exhaust. Naturally aspirated is nice but the turbo is much more "modiable." DSG is ok- shift totally fluid with no feel of a shifter at all. Feels completely different than the SMG I had on a M3 I recently sold. Prefer the regular 6 speed.

Default It might start spooling at 1800 but on my 225 it doesn't feel like I'm on boost till closer to 3k.

If you keep the revs over 4k when running thru twisties or whatever, the turbo stays spooled and you don't really feel any lag while shifting. Mostly you'll feel the lag starting from a stop or if you're just cruising and have the revs down around 2-2500rpm.

Default I drove a 3.2, a stock 225 and my chipped 225 back-to-back-to-back

a couple of weeks ago. With no real testing of numbers it is hard to say for sure but I can tell you that the 3.2 is much quicker off the line than the stock 225. My car felt about the same off the line and quicker at higher speeds. My only speed-related mod is the APR chip.

Default Going by "AUDI performance specs".Stock 225 and 3.2 are about equal. A chipped car has to be faster.

The 3.2 IMO is a step sideways in performance to the 225hp. There is no denying the auto-trany is slick but its not worth 225 owners trading in their car for unless they want a auto-trany.
