Default About to do my upgrades..

I had the revo demo and I was floored by it. I just love it. What I want to do is the full revo, forge exhaust and forge DV..

I guess my question is what these offer me. I know what the revo does, and I think the dv will give me better throttle response. The exhaust will just allow for better hp. Are there any drawbacks to these?

Default My first mod was the Forge DVR at 8K miles. It was a dramatic improvement but it still gets flakey

I haven't even driven a chipped car yet.

Default Probably reduced engine life because you are making it work harder.

Default Keep hearing this 'probably'... Any real data on chip and engine life reduction?

Default depends on how you drive your car......

and the tuning of the chip. Nobody has stood still with chip programming so it's a moving target to test. Many here have thousands of chipped miles without any apparent failures. A few folks have silently replaced turbos also but only they know what modding or driving caused the failure. Even stock, if you hammer the car you'll get decreased life even compared to a well driven chipped car.

Default Done. Nope, still looks good. But now I see the value of Bipes' quick disconnect.

Default by flakey you mean...

- herky jerkyness when you let your foot off the throttle only sometimes?
- not super linear all the time when you are WOT?

I get this too.
