So i am headed to Germany for 2 days in early August. One of the things I am looking forward to doing is driving very fast on the German Autobahn without fear from speeding tickets. I want to rent a car that is fast and I know the large S class and 7 series would be nice but they are too much money. I have a TT coupe which is fast so I am tempted to rent a TT roadster. Or for a little less I can rent some middle class Audi/BWM/Mercedes from sixt.com for their weekend rate.
Sixt.com US$ 95.00 (incl. all km)BMW 3er, Audi A4 US$ 98.10 (incl. all km)Mercedes C-Klasse US$ 196.20 (incl. all km)Mercedes C-Klasse T-Modell US$ 173.70 (incl. all km)Mercedes E200, BMW 520 US$ 325.00 (incl. all km)Mercedes E240, Mercedes CLK US$ 473.20 (incl. all km)Mercedes S-Klasse, BMW 7er From EUropcar.com 336.656 USD AUDI TT Roadster or similar - PRemium Sport Manual No Air cond 288.199 USD MB SLK SCHALT. (F) or similar Luxury Convertible Manual Air Cond 482.131 USD MB E 200 KOMPR.AUT or similar Luxury 4 door automatic air cond 482.131 USD BWM 525I (F) or similar Hertz.com has some cars too - but I am not sure what I would end up with. I want something fast and sporty and cheap. What do you recommend? |

... but 250km/h is fun anyways.
Atleast when there's some traffic. When there's not, you will be just going steady speed without any brakings or accelerations, makes you kind of numb after 20-30 minutes. |

you are going to be limited to 130KPH anyway. In the open stretches where you can open it up you loose the sense of speed unless passing trucks or other vehicles. Why not try something you can't get here? Opal,Peugot? I have found that renting a manual car gives you a larger car for same or less money than smaller automatic. Manual MB E class would be great. You'll find gearing is different so even what we think of as slower cars have a good top end. Sometimes it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.
