Default turbine housing install (day 1)

wow, what a long day. been a while since i did the install, and i was reminded how much of a pain it is to work on TTs, and even worse, on my turbo setup.

first off, i hit a rock a month or os back on the way back from tahoe. i saw it coming up on the freeway and just passed it off as "ah, i'm sure i'll clear it." not so. the subframe brace (shown below) obviously took a beating, as did the under fascia, also shown. reorder the subframe brace (only $30).

on to the housing.
intake off, downpipe dettached, compressor housing off, IC piping off.

many hours later...

the relenTTless warrior (me):

old (0.63 A/R) left, new (0.48 A/R) right.

reassembled.

hmm...something is missing?!

ahh, there it is!

the turbo still isn't bolted on to the manifold (a real b!tch of a job, due to lack of space), i have to get new bolts and washers tomorrow.

The rest of the pictures

Default That is looking really good! Will ATP have something for the 225? Also, don't they have a T3/T4

manifold?

Default doubt it. ATP's TT product line will come from me...

if it ever happens. I have considered making a kit out of my setup (per a few requests) for TT's in general. in the end, it really doesn't matter 180 or 225 because EVERYTHING stock comes off. the only thing that'll be slightly different is software, to take advantage of the stiffer block and more importantly the 9.0:1 CR.

further, if i did finally piece together a kit, i can't have buyers follow instructions like "now cut a large slice out of this wheel well liner support so that the IC piping fits thru," which is unfortunately what i had to do. so there are numerous "easy-way" mods that would have to be solved. actually, the more i think about it, the level of modification is so extreme, i dunno, argh, hahaha! it is sounding more and more daunting as i talk about it!
