Default Just had dieselgeek short shift kit installed...

as a late Christmas gift. Had it done at Motopersona in Chicagoland. Professional job as usual. Always a pleasure to bring my car there. It was the installers first dieselgeek kit, as I guess the local kids bring in neuspeeds for their jettas and golfs.

The dieselgeek short shift kit really does feel stock, albeit with shorter throws. It is a modified stock part, though, so that makes sense. I love the short north and south throws, and the shortened east and west throws is a welcomed bonus. Shifting actually feels smoother now. I highly recommend this shift kit! It is a great Christmas present.

Default I have one too and love it. I would have installed yours for you.

Where do you live? I'm in Glen Ellyn.

I like your username. I should have that one since I make candy for a living.

Default D'oh. NOW you tell me. LOL. Do you have any other mods?

I have a feeling that this year is going to be the "year of the mods," for me. Maybe we can have a mod party in the summer?

I live in Chicago, kicking it on the South Side.

Default There are pretty good reviews of each...

if you do a search. You can compare and contrast from those posts. Seems the Neuspeed is heavier than the Dieselgeek, and does not shorten the East and West throws, just North and South. I believe the Neuspeed is more than $100 over the cost of the Dieselgeek as well. I do not know anything about the B&M part, though. I went with the Dieselgeek because I like lighter feel. It is like the stock shifter in that you could shift with just one finger of pressure if you wanted to.

Default I used to grind a gear every now and then before the install, but that never

happens now.

Yes, I do like mine.

Takes about an hour to install. Although a nice warm, well lit garage would be a big bonus right now.

Default Wow, I have to see your ride.

I want to see a bunch of those mods and how they complement the car. I've had my eye on the strat armrest for a while. A new suspension and 18" tires are in the future for me as well, but it is a year or so down the road.

Default Wanna help me with mine when I get ready to install it? :)

I got one for Christmas, and I think a friend of mine is going to come down and help me with it, but neither one of us have any experience with the kit. Any words of advice for getting it installed properly?
