bought it private sale.....

the radiator is hot everywhere if that makes any difference... just had an oil change at 90000 and its only been 600 miles. could it be an ecu problem?

how do you test the radiator for blockage?

yes I have... and its about at the max level but honestly.... the engine shouldnt be as hot as it is... I just got this car and dont know alot about the details of how it runs but I know its running MAD hot!

Mine died and leaked into my coolant, and caused the same problem you're describing.

The gauge or temp sender could be defective.

I just drained the coolant and it was clean as can be.

so if the car was running really hot the tank would boil over before Id damage my engine? just curious the thermostat goes in with the springs up in the engine right? thats how it was when I took it out..

do this:
Loosen the screws holding the expansion tank so you can raise it as high as the attached hoses will allow. Loosen the clamp on the left hose as shown in the picture. They go into the firewall between the exspansion tank and the block. Pull the hose back just far enough to expose the bleed hole. Slowly pour coolant into the exspansion tank until it flows out the bleeder on the hose. Push the hose back over the bleed hole, re-tighten the clamp and re-affix the coolant tank. Tighten cap and give it a shot. (courtesy of Yippers)

sounds good I'll do that when I get home I dont know what else could be wrong I've already spent WAY too much money on a fan clutch and thermostat and cant drive the damd thing

If the coolant system is in open loop, the expansion tank will boil over, if the engine overheats. Overheating an engine should be avoided at all cost. I can't say at what point damage would occur.
