I usually don't drag. I 'd much prefer maneuvering in the twisties. But last week at around 10PM this guy in a GT pulls up next to me on a red light. Revs his engine. I figured why not; if anything it will test my shift effeciency. Light turned green we both took off. He totally blew it. I think he missed second or third gear. He was a good sport, though; he pulled up next to me and said, "Dude, I missed my gear". Real young kid. Lucky for me. Am I right in assuming that a stock 225hp cannot under normal circumstances beat a mustang GT on a straight-away?

On my way home from work, there was this dude in a newer Camaro with a throaty exhaust. Nice sound, really. He give's me the "I'll take you any day" look and starts revving his engine like there's no tomorrow. Funny part is that it was bumper to bumper traffic. Top speed we hit was about 2MPH. After I hit 3MPH, I said enough is enough and blew him away. I kept her in first gear, romped it and once I hit 10mph, he knew it was all over.
some people just don't know what the TT has under the hood. :-) I need sleep people, really...

didn't matter about dropping it (TT) but now of course it's a different matter and she won't do a re-match
![]() It's funny now with the wheels perhaps this means I am more of a target (don't know why) but in the good old "Valley" I get many people in their [ricers] try it on and bait me. Unless it's on the outskirts I just leave it and let them go (just not worth it) One of my fav pastimes though is lane playing. When they come up and blast past (after slowing down) only to get caught by a slow person in their lane leaving me to be able to "blip" my way past them in almost a "see, still wanna play" move.

There is a lot of variability with 'Stangs.
It's really difficult to get a '96 - '98 GT to move. The '99+ are a lot quicker, but vary from the low to mid 14s in the 1/4 mile..., unless it's running on an empty tank of fuel and a lower rear-gear. Then they can dip into the 13s. All in all, the 225TT benefits from really good gear selection for acceleration and speed, unlike a stock GT.
