Default Hey guys/gals...I have a couple of questions for ya.....

I currently own a 00 A4 1.8T which I have heavily modified (APR stage III, stoptechs, KW coilovers, ect.) and I am now selling the car. I am thinking about getting a 225 TT coupe. I am having trouble deciding between getting a 2002 ALMS edition in the dark silver or a regular 2003 225 and paying extra to have it painted the dark silver. Does anyone know what the changes, if any, will be on the 2003 model? Should I wait for the 2003? The reason I am concidering not ordering the ALMS (although I love the color) is I want the Audi navigation system, as well a an alcantera steering wheel (I can't find any ALMS's with Nav). What do you guys think? Should I wait for a custom 2003...or buy an ALMS?

Default special order paint will take time...

so probably you'll have to add some # of weeks/months onto the first date that you can order a 2003... do you really want to wait that long?

not sure what changes 03 will bring, maybe a few more horses, but not much is certain yet. so hard to say whether waiting will bring other benefits.

I still can't imagine why people want the fuzzy steering wheel, but I guess it's a matter of taste :-)

either way, whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll like the result!

Default rumor has it Dolphin Grey will be offered on 2003 TTs

I think. Personally I like that more that Avus, even thought that is sweet too. Then maybe spend the xtra coin on special order alcantara interior if possible.

Default I would get the ALMS with an after market Navigation system because

Audi's Nav. sysyem is CDs with a total of 9 for the US. The problem with that is limited data per CD and the State next to you might not be on the same CD, then you would have to buy at least one other one at $130.00 a pop.
After market Nav. Systems come with aDVD and take in the complete US. Do a search in our fourms and you'll find plenty of info on different systems.

Default The '03 color that's "replacing" Aviator and Nimbus Gray Pearl is Dolomite Gray Pearl...

... It's supposed to split the difference between today's grays and is darker than Avus Silver. Sounds like it could be close to Dolphin Gray.

FWIW, Don't be too surprised if AoA won't process any special order Misano Red or Avus Silver coupes for the 2003 model year. Seems the legal staff in Auburn Hills is more than a little concerned about preserving the ALMS' "Limited Edition" status.

You should have seen the brouhaha over adding Misano and Avus to the regular color palette in England in late Spring. Suits and threats of suits between Le Mans Special Edition owners began flying in the general direction of Audi UK.

And the poor Brits don't even have the bumper crop of lawyers we do.

Default Actually, they ended up refunding money to the S-Line drivers.

Not that it's a big deal, but I'd be pissed to buy this car and then have them offer it in the line up next year...lol, they even gave customers in the UK the 18" wheels as standard, so the S-Line guys were paying premium price for zippo exclusivity....if they come out with Avus, I'll ask for a refund of the price differential as well....LOL. Glad to have you on the ALMS team with the info you are privy to .... ;-)
