Default Roadster top care

I have a 100 mile old 2002 180hp FWD Roadster, and I'm already worried about proper maintenance and care for the fabric top, seeing as how it rained all weekend, and I don't have access to covered parking. Any tips or suggestions on what I should do/use to make sure the top retains its water repellancy, and keeps it looking good?

Default Shampoo 3-4 times per year with Porsche Tequipment Cabrio Top Shampoo...

...and spray 1-2 times per year w/ their Cabrio Top Protectant and you'll be perfectly fine. It works great!

Default Just shampooed and waterproofed mine yesterday...

make sure you don't get the waterproofing stuff on your paint... It's not supposed to be too good for it. It's a pretty simple process. Just spray on and let dry.

Default hey OcTTober...

the guys at the Porsche dealer where I got my top protectant said that it should take a whole can to do the job right. I put about 4 coats on and still had plenty left over in the can... Do you think I should keep going over it until the can is empty or is that enough?

Default The Porsche guys must know what they're talking about, although I ended up using a single can....

...for two applications last year. I thought it did a fine job w/ that amount and I just ordered another can for spring cleaning.

Default Ordered, and on the way! Thanks!

I've wanted this car for about three years now, since I saw the first concept a while back. Now I have it, and I hope the euphoria never fades. Before I went to pick it up at the lot, I had all the neccessary polishes, cloths, washes, paints, etcetera all ready ... bring it on!

Default I'm still experiencing the euphoria over this car almost 18 months into ownership. :)

Default now that I think about it they also said that I only need to apply it once a year...

I guess I could use half a can twice a year... I'm sure that would give me the same protection as 1 can once a year...
