at Champagne Motorsports here in Denver. I removed the hard-wired V1 and the Bailey valve and GIAC chip. Replaced the Bailey with (since I know ya wanna know) a new Ur S4 diverter valve. Those seem to be a good value, work forever even when ran on a significantly larger turbo with a LOT more boost. Funny thing is there was a 2000 S4 guy there asking what I was going to do with it and I said "sell it" and he paid me for it on-the-spot and was going to email Todd last night at AWE to order it's twin (bi-turbo S4's require 2 DV's).
Left the LeMans wheels on it as its SUCH a show-stopper with them. Parked the car in front of the lot, curbside at the street, parked diagonally in the most high-profile viewing spot and it was causing lots of gawking, locked-up brakes, slow drive-bys and generated about 8 customers that walked on the lot asking questions about it. Kids parked 5.0 litre 'stangs and big-block whatevers to get out, walk around it and stare. Hands-down the nicest, most agressive and fierce-looking 'exotic' on that stretch of 'auto row' yesterday. After spending an hour watching the hoop-lah generated by my car on that lot, I picked up my box of 'take-offs' and headed home. I resisted glancing back as I left. An interesting side-note. When my friend drops me off at home I'm excited that my S4 now has a garage to live in. No more brushing snow, scraping ice and brutal treks to the street to get in the car. I put its new garage door opener on it's visor and turn the key..."click-click-click." F**K!!! It's dead! The damn turbo circulation pump has been running continuously since I parked it about 11pm the night before and its now 4:30pm the next day. Jumped it with the help of a neighbor and got it into it's very own garage now with the battery charger on it. Least now I have a garage to park it in while I replace what I suspect to be a bad/faulty coolant temperature sensor in the lower radiator. Timing was just about perfect I'd say. Here's to Ms Led... my queen consort, my distraction for the past 18 months, my friend, my TT... and those like her everywhere. |

Make sure you snap one last picture at the dealer in front with everyone gawking at it!

between $28,700 and $30,100 with every option sans phone. And those are WHOLESALE prices to licensed dealers only.
Champagne has a subscription to some internet service that offers this information. No wonder dealers are asking (getting?) more for these things used than a new one goes for. |
