Default Anyone got a good solution to wash car in garage?

Seriously, anyone owns a "CarPad"??? It claims that it can hold "gallons" of water and dirt, but one still requires a wet.dry vac to get rid of the water.
Besides those spray on stuff, that I worry will scratch the clear coat, anyone got a good solution to wash the car with hose and pail and still rid the water from the garage?

This may or may not be a stupid question, but I REALLY wanna was my TT.

Default I can see this now...CarPad and a big shower curtain...and my neighbors think I'm crazy ;-)

Seriously...why not do the wash/spray off outside (yes in freezing weather) then run car inside to garage for warming up and drying. I would NOT use a just a bucket of water or ANY product that claims it can clean with minimal water.

Default I agree, a bucket isn't good enough

at least, if we're talking about trying to clean off the kind of sand & salt Jeff & I posted this AM.
You REALLY need a lot of water pressure to wash away the abrasive stuff before you touch it with anything, IMHO.

Default What I did was install a hot water line to my garage and hook up a hose to wash the car outside.

..Most of the water stays outside, I drive the car in turn it off close the door and have a bucket with warm water and use a chami to wipe it down. The hot water is to keep my hands warm if I need it. Runnig copper water lines is very easy and I use an out door type spigot that the hose screws on to. Drain the hose when done so it won't freeze. It works for me. JIM

Default Thanx Michael! I did the outside wash thing last week!

Worse, I did it after work at 8pm. Some neighbours went drove by and probably thought this asian guy is probably mad or loves his car alot! Sigh!

So, there is no real solution to this huh? They should have those places like in Indiana, where u get the whole garage with water jet and CLOSED door!

Default A good 'solution' would be two capfuls of Z-7 in a bucket of water ^^^^^

Default To keep my hands dry/warm I use a pressure wash to get the dirt off.

Default Another easy way to heet up your garage is with a wood burning stove, one double walled flu and

...you're in business. These things will get your garage hot, and the whole thing can be done for as little as two or three hundered dollars doing the work yourself. Even if you need to do dry wall and insulate, it still is not that big of a deal. I also have two kerosine heaters that work well. If your garage or car port is attached and you have a basement, running water lines is a simple matter and again the cost is very low if you do it. My Dad had a hot water line and a floor drain in his garage which was really neet, we ran the line so that's where I got the idea. As far as the cold goes just dress warm, so what if you get a little wet. You can really blast off all the crud when you have HOT water and nozzle working for you. With a bucket of hot water and a sponge your car will end up cleaner than any spray wash result. I never take my cars to a spray wash or a car wash and the money I save more than offsets the cost to do the afforementioned. JIM
