You might want to park the car somewhere else these days. They most likely will come back for your car, etc. Buy something to protect yourself with, ie, gun, mace, etc. We don't want you getting hurt. Please keep us informed on the situation. And be careful.

The biggest loss, of course, is the feeling of safety in our own house. That, and the fact that I can't work until 10pm anymore since my wife doesn't like the idea of being home alone after dark any more....

This kind of thing has never happened around here, according to the police. I live about 2 blocks from the National Institute of Health, which is in a really nice neighborhood in Bethesda MD. We moved here 3 years ago because Cassandra (my wife) got sick of the crime in the Bay Area (car broken into many times, motorcycle vadalized, car stolen, house broken into with Cass home alone, all in a 4 year period), but I guess nowhere is really safe.....
In any case, the cops are a bit overworked and really don't seem to have enough time to deal with the case. We'll see what happens when the detective calls later this week. |

smashed all of my windows and scratched F@CK on the dashboard because I made my stereo theft proof with an old child's erector set. They really went nuts on the dash and even tore out the back seats. In the end, I still had all the equipment, sans a few cut cables, but replacing all the glass was outrageously expensive.

the case here in California. Material things can always be replaced but not you or your family. Best wishes.
