Locally my dealer wants $5000 or so over MSRP for a new TT. Supply and demand gives that number some validity but it is still a lot of money. What have you owners paid? Did anyone order over the net, did you feel you saved anything? Are there any dealers you would recommend?

My dealer is Ernst Gosch at Diablo Audi in Concord, CA. Not sure where you are, but my experience so far has been very positive with this dealer.

I wasn't having any luck and suddenly I have 2 dealers who will sell me what I want at msrp. Unfortunatly one is on the other side of the country...but if you look hard enough...you can find what you are looking for.

Even here in the Bay Area (where people have plenty of money and demand for neet-o cars is very high) most of the Audi dealers don't mark up cars that are ordered (i.e. you were on the wait list for several months). These cars are typically sold at MSRP.
If you're just looking for a TT that you can pick up immediately, expect a significant ($3000-$5000) markup, assuming of course that you can find one. One dealer in this area sells its 'extra' TT's (when it gets 'em) at only $2500 over MSRP... what a steal!!! |

The markup is a rip off. From a supply/demand side it's understandable, but when it comes down to it, the car has a set value (which drops like a rock already when you take it off the lot- meaning you're risking getting stuck on the value of the car as soon as there is more supply of TTs in the market).
Honest dealerships have enough ways to make money on selling cars, the ones with markups are greedy. Commonwealth Audi in Santa Ana, CA wanted $7500 over sticker!!! They were the slimiest bunch of lying piglovers I ever met. They tried everything in the book to slime me out of my cash - even lying to me about how they would negotiate when I called them... only to find that "the manager wouldn't let me do the deal that way". That was after I drove the 35 minutes to the dealership! Dirty pool. Wasted 2 whole days with these jokers. Audi of Newport Beach has a no-markup policy, but you need to order... nice folks, long wait. So, I went to Audi of Beverly Hills. Good folks. They were aggressive, but I ended up getting a good deal. Fully loaded, exactly what I wanted. In stock and no markup. Went in on a sunday morning to see what they had, rolled out 3 hours later in a **SHINY** object of love. Summary: check around and don't take any crap! |
