Guys,
Another question to a newcomer to the A8. Is it possible to use jackstands to hold up this car while working underneath. According to Audi owners manual you must only jack the car at those pads underneath. I cannot figure how to remove a jack and at the same time place a stand at those same points. Albee |

Front Jackstand Location:
Place the jackstand on the plate (flat part) with the bolt that attaches the sub-frame to the body: ![]() I wouldn't place the jackstand under the sub-frame proper, as damage will result: ![]() Notice how the metal was pushed in by the jackstand from the vehicle's weight. Rear Jackstand Location Place the jackstand under the plate with the bolt that attaches the rear sub-frame to the body. This picture is looking straight at the driver's side rear wheel:
