Thanks to this forum, audipages.com and DocWyte who had the vag com I decided to recoded my tranny last night. Changed it to the 00011 code and its shocking what a difference there is. You barely have to step on it and she just downshifts and your of. No more having to floor it to get moving. Its also nice not to be in 4th gear by 30 mph's or atleast thats how it used to feel. Highly recomend this mod as one of the first thing D2 A8 owners should do if they want a bit more pep. The fact that it only took about a minute to do is pretty nice also.

I believe it makes the A8 faster and more powerful and handle better than the S8 too.
Just kiddin of course but it is the best mod for the A8.

It also lets you tip up redline in 1st gear.

What good is tiptronic if you can't use it. Holding first gear is awesome isn't it?

holding first gear is fun. normally didnt used to rev this car out like I do with my rx7 but that seems to be changing.

and I have to say, it makes the tiptronic, what's the word I'm looking for, oh USEFUL. What a huge improvement - way more control, acceleration, etc. That just blew me away! Thanks for the instigation!! :-)
