Default Fuel pump lowdown

Well my pump died and off to the w/shop I went. Then checked Elsa to find that the pump is described as an installation kit.
Confirmed with Etka and realised that an aftermarket one was unlikley.
Replaced with a stealer genuine pump "installation kit" at a cost to the warranty people of $1400NZD [about $950US]
so took the old kit apart to find that there is a part # on the side of the actual pump.
The rest of the kit was plastic housing and did not include the level sensor.
VERY AUDI I think

Default What was the manufacturer/part number on the pump itself?

Yes, selling the entire assembly instead of just the pump is very Audi- just like you have to buy the entire headlight assembly if the glass gets cracked (in the US anyway).

Default I tried to order one but they wouldn't sell me one for some reason.....

They said it wasn't in stock, but when I asked when it would be in stock they refused to answer. Maybe Audi got in their knickers to keep them from selling direct to consumers. Buttheads......

Default Re: Fuel pump lowdown

I replaced my pump in Jun of this year, was told by everyone that it would cost me $1,000 bought the whole replacement Audi kit (PN# 4D0-298-087-B)for $445.26 from Premier Motorcars Audi/ MB/ Porsche dealer in Albuquerque, NM. Found them via Partsvoice.com. I hadn't had my pump taken out yet, so I was very surprised to see a rather large box arrive. The pump looks to be in a large white plastic housing. Hopethis helps. If you want any more info let me know and I will upload a copy of the invoice.

Default Sounds reasonable- I once replaced my e28 535i's fuel pump with one from a Chevy Vega.

We just need someone to figure out which readily available pumps cross-reference with the specs on the OE Audi pump.
Anyone have the part number for that Nissan pump?
