I got a call from the dealer. The water pump and the thermostat will be replaced under extended warrantee. Since I am up to 85k miles, they are only charging $300 more to replace my timing belt while they are working on my water pump. Pretty cool to know that there is an upside to this story.

But it's doubtful that you water pump and your thermostate is bad.....I suspect only your thermostate.....but if doing the TB service, you replace both of them anyways.

Nice that they're getting the water pump paid for whether or not is was the culprit.
