Default Malfunction indicator light

Malfunction indicator light engine check is on. It is not bad gas, I think (occurred on middle of the tank). Should I panic and see dealer after work or it could wait few days, order Vag-Com and check problem myself first?
Thank you

Default Where are you located?

Maybe one of us with VAG is around the corner. When you say malfunction indicator light, do you mean the check engine light? Actually, I don't know what they call it, but what is the icon that you are referring to?

Default If it is the check engine light, steady on means check it out when you can, flashing means....

stop the car NOW, turn off the engine, and call for a tow truck!

Default Yes, it is check engine light.

Default Small world ...

We live in Buffalo Grove too, Just South of Dundee road. Thought we had the only A8 in town, how wrong we were!

Default Brilliant Black, thank goodness.

You are no more than five minutes from where we live. We probably go to the same Blockbuster. The A8 is my fathers car. The A6 pictured in the signature below. Hope to see you around town!
